Driven by a tragic back-story involving ice-cream, twelve-year-old Bunyan Paulson quests to defeat the Yon Kuma, the Four Great Bears a wrestler has to beat in order to become the greatest. Yes, Bear Beater Bunyan is basically an excuse to write and draw fight scenes involving a kid beating the tar out of huge bears. These new editions(*) are double-sized and loaded with extras!

In Issue #2, Bunyan meets the family of his gal-pal referee, ROCHELLE ROUNDTREE, and tells his tragic, epic backstory that led him to a life of Bear Wrestling. Bring a hanky. PLUS: the evil SCARBURY battles THUNDER YOGI, the Great Bear of the East, in a title bout to end them all! And whichever ruthless bear wins, they’ll take on our hero Bunyan when it’s through!
Josh Hechinger & Jorge Muñoz’s [Bear Beater Bunyan] is a energetic take on pro wrestling, mixed with popular manga motifs and done with strong cartooning.
